How we score chiropractors in the Klang Valley guide
The Klang Valley Chiropractor Guide currently scores 58 chiropractor businesses across the region. Every score is generated the same way, using one published rubric applied consistently to every listing. This page explains what goes into that rubric, why we weighted it this way, and where the method runs into honest limits.
The five signals, heaviest first
Each business gets a composite score from 0 to 100, built from five measured signals. They are not weighted equally, because they do not tell you equally useful things.
| Signal | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Sentiment | 28% | A synthesis of recent review themes, praise against recurring complaints |
| Rating | 26% | The Google aggregate star rating |
| Volume | 20% | How many reviews exist, log-scaled so ten reviews don't compete evenly with a thousand |
| Recency | 14% | How recently people have actually left reviews |
| Completeness | 12% | Whether phone, website, hours and address are all listed and accurate |
Why sentiment carries the most weight
A star average smooths everything into one number, and that's exactly the problem. Two clinics can sit at the same 4.3 stars while one has a run of recent reviews all mentioning the same thing, rescheduled appointments, a rushed adjustment, unclear billing, and the other doesn't. The average alone can't show you that pattern. Reading what recent reviewers actually describe is the only way to catch it, which is why sentiment is weighted above the star rating itself rather than treated as a footnote to it.
Why the other signals matter
Rating still matters because it's the most direct signal customers give, and it's weighted second highest for that reason. Volume matters because a 5.0 rating from three reviews and a 4.6 from four hundred are not the same kind of evidence, so we log-scale volume rather than let raw review count dominate. Recency matters because a clinic that was excellent in 2019 may have changed staff, ownership, or standards since, and old praise tells you less than what people are saying this year. Completeness matters in a practical sense: a chiropractor whose phone number, hours, address and website are all correct and easy to find is simply easier and safer to book with, especially for a health-related appointment.
The honest limits
This method has real boundaries and we'd rather state them than hide them. Businesses with few recent reviews produce a shakier signal no matter how the math is weighted, so listings with thin or stale review activity get a low-confidence label rather than being presented with false certainty. We also don't republish review text: what you read on a listing here is our synthesis of themes across recent reviews, and we link back to the source on Google so you can read the originals yourself and judge for your own.
What never changes the score
Scores come from this rubric and this data, full stop. They are never hand-edited. Where paid placement exists on the site, it is always labelled clearly as sponsored and it has no effect on a business's score. If any list on this site involved editorial review of picks or ordering beyond the rubric, that is disclosed on the page itself, such as our best sports chiropractic list.
Who's behind this
This directory is published by Meridian Guides, which has been running independent city directories for everyday services across Malaysia since 2025, with particular focus on chiropractor listings in the Klang Valley. Meridian Guides doesn't sell rankings or placements, and sponsored listings are always marked as such. The editorial oversight for this guide sits with Janice, Editor, who maintains the rankings. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a "last verified" stamp so you can see it's being actively maintained rather than left to go stale. You can reach the publisher at hello@meridianguides.my, or visit meridianguides.my for more on how the directories work. FAQ
- Does a higher score mean a business paid for placement?
- No. Scores come entirely from the rubric: sentiment, rating, volume, recency and completeness. Paid placements exist in some places on the site but they are always labelled, and they never change a business's score.
- Why do some listings show a low-confidence label?
- When a business has very few recent reviews, the underlying signals are weaker and less reliable. We label those listings as low-confidence instead of presenting a score with more certainty than the data supports.
- Do you publish the actual review text?
- No, we synthesise recurring themes from recent reviews rather than republishing them, and we link out to the Google listing so you can read the original reviews yourself.
- How often is the data updated?
- The directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a last verified stamp so you can see when it was last checked.
